نضل

1 نَضَلَهُ He overcame him, or surpassed him, in shooting. (S, Msb, K.) 3 نَاضَلَهُ He vied, competed, or contended for superiority, with him in shooting. (S, Msb, K.) b2: نَاضَلَهُ, inf. n. تِنْصَالٌ: see بَيَّنَهَ. b3: نَاضَل عَنْهُ (tropical:) He defended him, pleaded in defence of him, or repelled from him; (K, TA;) spoke in his defence, excusing him; (S, TA;) defended him, &c., as above; (S;) contended, or pleaded, in his defence; (TA;) defended him; and contended in his defence. نَضِلَ البعيرُ، كفرِحَ: هُزِلَ وأعْيا وتَعِبَ،
وأنْضَلْتُه.
ونَضْلٌ: ع. ونُعْمانُ بنُ نَضْلَةَ، ونَضْلَةُ بنُ خَديجٍ، وابنُ عُبَيْدٍ، وابنُ طَرِيفٍ، وابنُ عَمْرٍو، وابنُ ماعِزٍ: صَحابيونَ.
وأبو نَضْلَةَ: كُنْيَةُ هاشِمِ بنِ عبدِ مَنافٍ.
وناضَلَهُ مُناضَلَةً ونِضالاً ونيضالاً: باراهُ في الرَّمْيِ.
ونَضَلْتُه: سَبَقْتُه فيه.
وناضَل عنه: دافَعَ.
وتَنَضَّلَهُ: أخْرَجَهُ،
كانْتَضَلَهُ.
وانْتَضَلَ منه: اخْتارَ،
وـ الإِبِلُ: رَمَتْ بأَيْديها في السَّيْرِ،
وـ القومُ: تَفاخَروا.
والنِّئْضِلُ، بالهمزِ كزِبرِجٍ: الداهِيَةُ.

(نَضَلَ) النُّونُ وَالضَّادُ وَاللَّامُ: أُصَيْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى رَمْيٍ وَمُرَامَاةٍ.

وَنَضَلَ فُلَانًا: رَامَاهُ بِالنِّضَالِ فَغَلَبَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ. وَهُوَ يُنَاضِلُ عَنْ فُلَانٍ: يَتَكَلَّمُ عَنْهُ بِعُذْرِهِ، كَأَنَّهُ يُرَامِي دُونَهُ. وَانْتَضَلْتُ سَهْمًا مِنَ الْكِنَانَةِ. وَيُقَالُ اسْتِعَارَةً: انْتَضَلْتُ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: اخْتَرْتُ مِنْهُمْ. وَانْتِضَالُ الْإِبِلِ: رَمْيُهَا بِأَيْدِيهَا فِي السَّيْرِ. وَانْتَضَلُوا وَتَنَاضَلُوا: رَمَوْا بِالسَّبْقِ. وَانْتَضَلْنَا بِالْكَلَامِ وَالْأَحَادِيثِ، اسْتِعَارَةٌ مِنْ نِضَالِ السَّهْمِ. قَالَ لَبِيدٌ:

فَانْتَضَلْنَا وَابْنُ سَلْمَى قَاعِدٌ ... كَعَتِيقِ الطَّيْرِ يُغْضِي وَيُجَلُّ.
