عنقر: العُنْقُر: أصلُ القَصَب ونحوه أوَّل ما ينبت، وهو رِخْوٌ غَضٌّ، الواحدة: عُنْقُرةٌ، وذلك قبل أن يظهَرَ في الأرضِ. ويقال لأولاد الدَّهاقين: عُنْقُر، شَبَّههُم بالعُنْقُر لترارتِهم ورُطُوبَتهم، قال :
كعُنْقُرات الحائط المَسْطُور
