عنصر: العُنْصُرُ: أصْلُ الحَسَب. إنما جاء عن الفُصَحاء مضمُومُ العَين منصُوب الصاد، ولا يجيء في كلامهم من الرباعي المُنبسِط على بناء فُعْلَل إلاّ ما يكون ثانيه نوناً أو همزةً نحو الجُنْدَب والجُؤْذَر. وجاءَ السودد كذلك كراهِيَة أن يقولوا سودُدٌ فتلتقي الضمّات مع الواو.
