عسقب: العِسْقِبُ والعِسْقِـبةُ: كلاهما عُنَيْقِـيدٌ صغير يكون

منفرداً، يَلْتَصِقُ بأَصْل العُنْقُود الضَّخْمِ، والجمع: العَساقِبُ.

والعَسْقَبَةُ: جُمُودُ العين في وقت البُكاء. قال الأَزهري: جعله الليث العَسْقَفةَ، بالفاءِ؛ والباءُ، عندي، أَصوب.
