صيل

1 صَالَ, aor. ـِ i. q. صال having for its aor. ـُ (Ibn-'Abbád, O, K,) i. e. He (a man) leaped or sprang [&c.]. (Ibn-'Abbád, O.) A2: صِيلَ لَهُمْ كَذَا, (S and K in art. صول,) or لَهُ, (Ibn-'Abbád and O and K in the present art.,) Such a thing was appointed, or ordained, or prepared, for them, or for him. (Ibn-'Abbád, S, O, K.) This is its proper place. (TA.) صِيلَةٌ The knot of the عَذَبَة [i. e. of the end, or of the suspensory thong, of a whip]. (S and K in art. صول, and O in the present art.) صِيَالٌ and صِيَالَةٌ: see art. صول. Quasi صيم صُيَّمٌ and صِيَّمٌ and صُيَّامٌ and صَيَامَى pls. of صَائِمٌ, expl. in art. صوم.
