زَفَتِ الرِيحُ السَّحابَ زَفْياً وزَفَيَاناً: طَرَدَتْه، واسْتَخَفَّتْهُ،
وـ القَوْسُ: صَوَّتَتْ،
وـ السَّرابُ الآلَ: رَفَعَه.
وأزْفاهُ: نَقَلَه من مكانٍ إلى آخَرَ.
والزَّفَيانُ: المرأةُ القصيرَةُ، ولَقَبُ شاعِرَيْنِ، والقَوْسُ السَّريعَةُ الإِرسالِ للسَّهْمِ.
والمَزْفِيُّ، كمَرْمِيٍّ: المُفَزَّعُ،
كالمُنْزَفِي.

(هـ) فِيهِ «أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَفَّتِ مِنَ الأوْعِية» هُوَ الإناءٌ الَّذِي طُلِى بِالزِّفْتِ وَهُوَ نوعٌ مِنَ القاَرِ، ثُمَّ انْتُبِذ فِيهِ.
