حفص
الدَّجاجَةُ تُكْنى: أُمَّ حَفْصَةَ. وَوَلَدُ الأسَدِ يُسَمّى: حَفْصاً، وبه سُمِّيَ الإِنسانُ. والحَفْصُ: زَبِيْلٌ من أدَمٍ. وبَيْتٌ صَغيرٌ. وحَفَصْتُ الشَّيْءَ: أي جَمَعْتُه، ومنه الحِفْصُ: الصَّغيرُ الحَجْم. ومَرَّ يَحْتَفِصُ في عَدْوِه، وهو البُطْءُ.
