[سمت] نه: في ح الأكل: سموا الله ودنوا و"سمتوا". أي إذا فرغتم فادعوا بالبركة لمن طعمتم عنده، والتسميت الدعاء. ومنهح: تسميت العاطس لمن رواه المهملة، وقيل: هو من السمت وهو الهيئة الحسنة، أي جعلك الله على سمت حسن لأن هيئته تنزعج للعطاس. وح: فينظرون إلى "سمته" وهديه، أي حسن هيئته ومنظره في الدين، وقيل: من السمت الطريق. وح: ما نعلم أحدا أقرب "سمتا" وهديا ودلا بالنبى صلى الله عليه وسلم من ابن أم عبد، أي ابن مسعود. وح: لا أدرى أين أذهب إلا إني "اسمت" أي ألزم سمت الطريق يعنى قصده، وقيل: هو بمعنى ادعو الله له. ج: تسميت العاطس بإهمال سينه أعلى وهو قول يرحمك الله ونحوه. ش: حتى تحققت "السمتان" أي صفتان وهما أحمد ومحمد، وتحققت بضم تاء وحاء، ولم يتنازع بفتح زأي. وفيه: و"ينسمت" في ملاءته، السمت الطريق القصد ويستعار لطريق أهل الخير أي يلزم طريقة أهل الخير في اشتمال الملحفة.
