1 رَاهَ, aor. ـِ (K,) inf. n. رَيْهٌ, said of the سَرَاب [or mirage], (TA,) It came and went; (K, TA;) [or went to and fro; or appeared to do so;] or ran upon the surface of the earth: (TA:) and ↓ تريّه, likewise said of the سراب, [signifies the same,] i. q. تَرَيَّعَ: (S, K, TA:) or تريّه signifies it was made to run hither and thither, in no uniform manner: (IAar, TA:) or it glistened uninterruptedly. (TA in art. ره.) b2: And He, or it, returned; like رَاعَ, aor. ـِ (TA in art. ريع.) 2 رُيَّهَ, said of the سَرَاب [or mirage]; and رَيَّهَتْهُ الهَاجِرَةُ: see مُرَيَّهٌ, below.5 تَرَيَّهَ see 1.مُرَيَّهٌ, (S, K,) as an epithet applied to the سَرَاب [or mirage], (TA,) i. q. مُرَيَّعٌ, (S, K, TA,) [meaning] كَأَنَّهُ رُيِّهَ أَوْ رَيَّهَتْهُ الهِاجِرَةُ [As though it were made to come and go, or go to and fro, or run upon the surface of the earth; or as though the vehement midday-heat made it to come and go, &c.].
