inf. n. رَيْهٌ, said of the سَرَاب [or mirage], (

TA;) [or went to and fro; or appeared to do so;] or ran upon the surface of the earth: (
TA:) and ↓ تريّه, likewise said of the سراب, [signifies the same,]
i. q. تَرَيَّعَ: (

TA:) or تريّه signifies it was made to run hither and thither, in no uniform manner: (

TA:) or it glistened uninterruptedly. (

i. q. مُرَيَّعٌ, (

TA,) [meaning] كَأَنَّهُ رُيِّهَ أَوْ رَيَّهَتْهُ الهِاجِرَةُ [
As though it were made to come and go, or go to and fro, or run upon the surface of the earth; or as though the vehement midday-heat made it to come and go, &c.]. (
