و ك س: (الْوَكْسُ) النَّقْصُ وَقَدْ (وَكَسَ) الشَّيْءَ مِنْ بَابِ وَعَدَ. وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ: «لَهَا مَهْرُ مِثْلِهَا لَا وَكْسَ وَلَا شَطَطَ» أَيْ لَا نُقْصَانَ وَلَا زِيَادَةَ. وَقَدْ (وَكَسْتُ) فُلَانًا نَقَصْتُهُ مِنْ بَابِ وَعَدَ أَيْضًا.
