[هربذ] الهِرْبِذُ بالكسر: واحدُ هَرابِذَةِ المجوسِ، وهم خَدَمُ النارِ، فارسيٌّ معرَّب. والهَرْبَذَةُ: سَيْرٌ دون الخَبَبِ. وعَدا الجملُ الهِرْبِذى، أي في شِقٍّ . وقال الأصمعي: الهِرْبِذى: مِشيةٌ تشبه مشى الهرابذة.
