هـ د ر: (هَدَرَ) دَمُهُ بَطَلَ وَبَابُهُ ضَرَبَ، وَ (أَهْدَرَهُ) السُّلْطَانُ أَيْ أَبْطَلَهُ وَأَبَاحَهُ. وَذَهَبَ دَمُهُ (هَدْرًا) بِسُكُونِ الدَّالِ وَفَتْحِهَا أَيْ بَاطِلًا لَيْسَ فِيهِ قَوَدٌ وَلَا عَقْلٌ. وَ (هَدَرَ) الْحَمَامُ صَوَّتَ. وَهَدَرَ الْبَعِيرُ رَدَّدَ صَوْتَهُ فِي حَنْجَرَتِهِ، تَقُولُ مِنْهُمَا: هَدَرَ يَهْدِرُ بِالْكَسْرِ (هَدِيرًا) .
