[نوت] النَواتيُّ: الملاَّحون في البحر خاصّة، وهو من كلام أهل الشام، واحدهم نوتى. وأما قول الراجز : يا قبح الله بنى السعلات * عمرو بن يربوع شرار النات * ليسوا أعفاء ولا أكيات * فإنما يريد الناس وأكياس، فقلب السين . وهى لغة لبعض العرب، عن أبى زيد.
