النمو: هو ازدياد حجم الجسم، بما ينضم إليه ويداخله في جميع الأقطار، نسبة طبيعية، بخلاف السمن والورم؛ أما السمن، فإنه ليس في جميع الأقطار؛ إذ لا يزداد به الطول، وأما الورم فليس على نسبة طبيعية.
