[نشز] النَشْزُ والنَشَزُ: المكان المرتفع. وجمع النَشْزِ نُشوزٌ، وجمع النَشَزِ أنشاز ونشاز، مثل جبل وأجبال وجبال. وأما النشاز بالفتح فهو المكان المرتفع. وهو واحدٌ، يقال: اقعدْ على ذلك النَشازِ. ابن السكيت: يقال للرجل إذا أسَنَّ ولم ينقص: فلان والله نَشَزٌ من الرجال. ونَشَزَ الرجل ينشز وينشز نشزا: ارتفع في المكان. ومنه قوله تعالى: {وإذا قيل انْشُزوا فانْشُزوا} . وإنْشازُ عظامِ الميِّت: زفعها إلى مواضعها وتركيب بعضها على بعض. ومنه قرأ زيد بن ثابت رضى الله عنه: {كيف ننشزها} . ونشزت المرأة تنشز وتَنْشِزُ نُشوزاً، إذا استعصت على بَعْلها وأبغضته. ونَشَزَ بعْلها عليها، إذا ضربَها وجفاها. ومنه قوله تعالى: {وإنِ امرأةٌ خافتْ مِنْ بعلها نشوزا} .
