(ندد) - في الحديث: "فنَدَّ بَعِيرٌ"
: أي شَرَدَ وذهَبَ على وَجْهِهِ. وقُرِئ: {يَوْمَ التَّنَادِّ} بتَشديد الدَّال، يعنى يوم يفِرُّ المرءُ مِن أَخِيه وأُمِّهِ وأَبِيه.
وَقد نَدَّ يَنِدُّ: نَفَر، وندَدتُه أَنا، والنِّدَادُ: الشِّراد.
والنِّدّ: المثْل الذي يُضادُّ في الأمور ويُخالِف، من نَدَّ البعيرُ: إذا استَعْصَى.

(س) فِيهِ «فَنَدَّ بعيرٌ مِنْهَا» أَيْ شَرَد وذَهَب عَلَى وجْهِه.
وَفِي كِتَابِهِ لأُكَيْدِر «وخَلَع الأنْدادَ وَالْأَصْنَامَ» الْأَنْدَادُ: جَمْعُ نِدّ، بِالْكَسْرِ، وَهُوَ مثْل الشيءِ الَّذِي يُضادّه فِي أمورِه ويُنَادُّهُ: أَيْ يخالفُه. وَيُرِيدُ بِهَا مَا كَانُوا يَتَّخِذُونه آلِهَةً مِنْ دُونِ اللَّه.
