[كلح] نه: فيه: إن من ورائكم فتنًا وبلاء "مكلحًا"، أي يكلح الناس لشدته، والكلوح: العبوس، من كلح الرجل وأكلحه الهم. غ: "الكالح" من قلصت شفته على أسنانه.

(كَلَحَ) الْكَافُ وَاللَّامُ وَالْحَاءُ أَصْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى عُبُوسٍ وَشَتَامَةٍ فِي الْوَجْهِ. مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْكُلُوحُ، وَهُوَ الْعُبُوسُ. يُقَالُ كَلَحَ الرَّجُلُ، [وَ] دَهْرٌ كَالِحٌ. قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ النَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَالِحُونَ. وَرُبَّمَا قَالُوا لِلسَّنَةِ الْمُجْدِبَةِ: كَلَاحِ. وَمَا أَقْبَحَ كَلَحَتَهُ، أَيْ إِذَا كَلَحَ فَقَبُحَ فَمُهُ وَمَا حَوَالَيْهِ.
