قنبيط: قنبيط: والعامة تفتح القاف فتقول قَنبيط. (محيط المحيط) (وكذلك في معجم فوك وفيه الواحدة بالهاء) وقرنبيط: أغلظ أنواع الكرنب. ويظن الجواليقي (ص122) أن الكلمة نبطية. وهي بالأحرى الكلمة اليونانية كنويت. (انظر التعليقات على الجواليقي) وقد أشار باين سميث (1595) إلى أنها يونانية.
