ابن دريدٍ: يقال للبنِ الخاثرِ الغليظَ: هديدّ وعثلّطِ وعلبط وعجلّطِ وعكلّطِ وعكلّدِ. وقال الأصمعيّ: إذا خَثرَ اللبنَ جدّاً وتكبدَ فهو عكلطّ، وأنشدَ:
كيفَ رأيْتَ كثاَتيْ عجلطهِ ... وكثاَةَ الخامطِ من عكلطهِ
