الليث: العَقَنْفَس والعَفَنْقَس - لغتان مثل الجَذْبِ والجَبْذِ -: وهو السَّيِّئُ الخُلُق المُتَطاوِل على الناس، يقال: ما أدري ما الذي عَقْفَسَه وعَفْقَسَه: أي ما الذي أساءَ خُلُقَه بعد ما كانَ حَسَنَ الخٌلٌقِ.
