[صوغ] صغت الشئ أصوغه صوغا. ورجلٌ صائغٌ، وصَوَّاغٌ، وصَيَّاغٌ أيضاً في اغة أهل الحجاز، وعمله الصِيَاغَةُ. وصاغَهُ الله صِيغَةً حسنةً، أي خَلَقه. وسهامٌ صيغَةٌ، أي من عملِ رجلٍ واحد. وهو من الواو إلاّ أنّها انقلبت ياءً لكسرة ما قبلها. وهذا صَوْغُ هذا، إذا كان على قدره. وهما صَوْغانِ، أي سِيّانِ. وربَّما قالوا فلان يَصوغُ الكذب، وهو استعارة. وفي الحديث: " كَذِبَةٌ كذبها الصواغون ".
