صطم: صطم: والعامة تقول صطم الطاقة (النافذة) ونحوها أي سدّها. وتقول للمتكلم الحقير اصطَمْ بصيغة الأمر أي اسكت وسدّ فمك (محيط المحيط) ومنهم من يقول كل ذلك بالسين.
صطم الفلاح السكة: أي علق على رأسها الفولاذ لتطول وتقوى على شق الأرض. ويذكر بوشر سطم بمعنى خلط الفولاذ بالحديد ليقوى قطعه.
