(صَحَوَ) الصَّادُ وَالْحَاءُ وَالْحَرْفُ الْمُعْتَلُّ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى انْكِشَافِ شَيْءٍ. مِنْ ذَلِكَ الصَّحْوُ، خِلَافُ السُّكْرِ. يُقَالُ: صَحَا يَصْحُو السَّكْرَانُ فَهُوَ صَاحٍ. وَمِنَ الْبَابِ: أَصْحَتِ السَّمَاءُ فَهِيَ مُصْحِيَةٌ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي حَاتِمٍ قَالَ: الْعَامَّةُ تَظُنُّ أَنَّ الصَّحْوَ لَا يَكُونُ إِلَّا ذَهَابَ الْغَيْمِ، وَلَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ، إِنَّمَا الصَّحْوُ ذَهَابُ الْبَرْدِ، وَتَفَرُّقُ الْغَيْمِ. وَمِمَّا شَذَّ عَنْ هَذَا الْأَصْلِ الْمِصْحَاةُ، كَالْجَامِ يُشْرَبُ فِيهِ.
