زنم: زنم: تمثال (فوك).
زنم وجمعها ازنام = صَنَم (أبو الوليد ص234).
زَنِيمِيّ وهي زنيمية وهم زنيميون (فوك) وزُنُوم (فوك، ألكالا)، زنيم: دعي، فاسق، زان (المعجم اللاتيني - العربي، فوك، ألكالا).
شراب مزنم: شراب ممزوج، شراب عذب، شراب اتخذ من عنب جفف في الشمس (ألكالا).
مِزْنام وجمعه مَزَانِم: محتال، مكار (فوك).

(زَنَمَ)
فِيهِ ذِكْرُ «الزَّنِيم» وَهُوَ الدَّعِىُّ فِي النَّسَب المُلْحَقُ بِالْقَوْمِ وَلَيْسَ مِنْهُمْ، تَشْبِيهًا لَهُ بِالزَّنَمَةِ، وَهِيَ شَيْءٌ يُقْطع مِنْ أُذُن الشَّاةِ ويُترك مُعَلّقا بِها، وَهِيَ أَيْضًا هَنَة مُدَلاَّة فِي حَلْق الشَّاة كالمُلْحَقة بِهَا.
وَمِنْهُ حَدِيثُ عَلِيٍّ وَفَاطِمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا:
بنْتُ نبىٍّ لَيْسَ بِالزَّنِيمِ (س) وَحَدِيثُ لُقْمَانَ «الضَّائنة الزَّنَمَة» أَيْ ذاتُ الزَّنَمة. ويُروى الزَّلمة، وَهُوَ بمعْناَه.

(زَنُمَ) الزَّاءُ وَالنُّونُ وَالْمِيمُ أَصْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى تَعْلِيقِ شَيْءٍ بِشَيْءٍ. مِنْ ذَلِكَ الزَّنِيمُ، وَهُوَ الدَّعِيُّ. وَكَذَلِكَ الْمُزَنَّمُ ; وَشُبِّهَ بِزَنَمَتَيِ الْعَنْزِ، وَهُمَا اللَّتَانِ تَتَعَلَّقَانِ مِنْ أُذُنِهَا. وَالزَّنَمَةُ: اللَّحْمَةُ الْمُتَدَلِّيَةُ فِي الْحَلْقِ. وَقَالَ الشَّاعِرُ فِي الزَّنِيمِ:

زَنِيمٌ تَدَاعَاهُ الرِّجَالُ زِيَادَةً ... كَمَا زِيدَ فِي عَرْضِ الْأَدِيمِ الْأَكَارِعُ
