زقع: يقال للدّيكِ: قد صَقَعَ وزَقَعَ. والزَّقْع: شدَّة الضُّراطِ.

زَقَعَ الحِمار يَزْقَعُ زَقْعاً وزُقاعاً: اشتدّ ضَرِطُه.

وقال النضر: الزَّقاقِيعُ فِراخُ القَبَج، وقال الخليل: هي

الزَّعاقِيقُ، واحدتها زُعْقُوقةٌ.
