a. Followed; succeeded.
b. Rode behind.

a vicegerent, viceroy, regent.
b. Rode behind; carried another behind; carried two
riders (animal); mounted upon each other, hung
together (locusts).

أَرْدَفَa. Followed, came after; succeeded.
