[دنق] الدَانَقُ والدانِقُ: سُدْسُ الدِرهمِ. وربَّما قالوا للدانِق: داناقٌ، كما قالوا للدرهم: دِرْهامٌ. والدانِقُ أيضاً: المهزولُ الساقطُ. وأنشد أبو عمرو: إنَّ ذواتِ الدَلِّ والبَخانِقِ قَتَلْنَ كلَّ وامِق وعاشِقٍ حتَّى تراه كالسليم الدانِقِ والمُدَنِّقُ: المستَقصي. قال الحسن: " لا تُدَنِّقُوا فيُدَنَّقَ عليكم ". والتَدْنيق مثل التَرْنيقِ، وهو إدامةُ النظر إلى الشئ. يقال دنق إليه النظر ورنق. وكذلك النظر الضعيف. وتَدْنيقُ الشمس للغروب: دُنُوُّها. وتدنيق العين: غؤورها.
