) (الدَّرابِنَةُ: البَوَّابُونَ، الواحِدُ دَرْبانٌ، فارِسِيٌّ مُعَرَّبٌ) ؛ وأَنْشَدَ الجوْهرِيُّ للمثقَّبِ العَبْدِيِّ يَصِفُ ناقَتَه:
فأَبْقَى باطِلِي والجِدُّ منهاكدُكَّانِ الدَّرابِنةِ المَطِينِوقِياسُ الدِّرْبانِ على طَريقَةِ كَلامِ العَرَبِ أَن يكونَ وَزْنه فِعْلان، ونُونُه زائِدَة، وَلَا يكون أَصْلاً لأنَّه ليسَ فِي كلامِهِم فعْلال إلاَّ مُضاعفاً.
وممَّا يُسْتدركُ عَلَيْهِ:
الدُّرْبانُ، بالكسْرِ والضمِّ، لُغَتان عَن كُراعٍ.
وقيلَ: الدَّرابنَةُ: التُّجَّارُ.
