[حتك] حَتَكَ الرجل يَحْتِكُ حَتْكاً وحَتَكاناً، أي مشى وقاربَ الخطوَ وأسرع. ويقال: لا أدري على أيِّ وجهٍ حَتَكُوا، وربَّما قالوا عَتَكوا، أي توجَّهوا. والحَوْتَكُ والحَوْتَكِيُّ: القصير الضاوى. وقال وهل كنت إلاَّ حَوْتَكِيًّا أَلاقَهُ بنو عَمِّهِ حتى بغى وتجبرا والحواتك: رئال النعام.
