[حتر] الحِتْرُ: بالكسر: العطيّة اليسيرة، وبالفتح المصدر تقول: حَتَرْتُ له شيئاً أَحْتُرُ حَتْراً . قال الأصمعيّ: فإذا قالوا أقلَّ وأَحْتَرَ قالوه بالألف. قال الشَنْفَرى: وأُمَّ عيال قد شهِدْتُ تَقوتهم * إذا أطعَمْتُهمْ أحْتَرَتْ وأَقَلَّتِ - وأَحْتَرْتُ العقدة: أحكمتها. والحَتار: الكِفاف. وكلُّ ما أحاط بالشئ واستداربه فهو حتاره وكفافه. والجمع حتر. يقال: حترت البيتُ حَتْراً، وذلك إذا ارتفع أسفل الخباء عن الارض وقلص فوصَلْتَ به ما يكونُ سِتراً. والحترة، بالضم: الوكيرة. يقال: حتر لنا، أي وكر لنا. وماحترت اليوم شيئا، أي ما ذقت. والحَتْرَةُ، بالفتح: الرَضْعة الواحدة.
