ج و ر: (الْجَوْرُ) الْمَيْلُ عَنِ الْقَصْدِ وَبَابُهُ قَالَ، تَقُولُ: (جَارَ) عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ وَجَارَ عَلَيْهِ فِي الْحُكْمِ. وَ (جُورُ) اسْمُ بَلَدٍ يُذَكَّرُ وَيُؤَنَّثُ وَ (الْجَارُ) الْمُجَاوِرُ، تَقُولُ: (جَاوَرَهُ مُجَاوَرَةً) وَ (جِوَارًا) بِكَسْرِ الْجِيمِ وَضَمِّهَا وَالْكَسْرُ أَفْصَحُ. وَ (تَجَاوَرُوا) وَ (اجْتَوَرُوا) بِمَعْنًى. وَ (الْمُجَاوَرَةُ) الِاعْتِكَافُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ. وَامْرَأَةُ الرَّجُلِ (جَارَتُهُ) وَ (اسْتَجَارَهُ) مِنْ فُلَانٍ (فَأَجَارَهُ) مِنْهُ. وَأَجَارَهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ أَنْقَذَهُ.
