(ثَغَمَ) الثَّاءُ وَالْغَيْنُ وَالْمِيمُ مُسْتَعْمَلٌ فِي كَلِمَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، وَهِيَ الثَّغَامَةُ، وَهِيَ شَجَرَةٌ بَيْضَاءُ الثَّمَرِ وَالزَّهْرِ، يُشَبَّهُ الشَّيْبُ بِهِ. وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ: «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِأَبِي قُحَافَةَ [يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ] وَكَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ ثَغَامَةٌ، فَأُمِرَ أَنْ يُغَيِّرَ» . وَأَغْفَلَ ابْنُ دُرَيْدٍ هَذَا الْبِنَاءَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْهُ مَعَ شُهْرَتِهِ. وَقِيلَ إِنَّ الثَّغِمَ الضَّارِي مِنَ الْكِلَابِ، وَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ فِي الْكِتَابَيْنِ. فَإِنْ صَحَّ فَهُوَ فِي بَابِ الْإِبْدَالِ، لِأَنَّ الثَّاءَ مُبْدَلَةٌ مِنْ فَاءٍ. وَقَدْ ذُكِرَ فِي بَابِهِ.
