[ثعع] ثَعَّ الرجلُ يَثِعُّ ثَعَّاً، أي قاء. وفى الحديث: " أن امرأة أتت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقالت: إن ابني هذا به جنون يصيبه في الاوقات. فمسح صدره ودعا له، فثع ثعة فخرج من جوفه جرو أسود ". قال أبو زيد: انثع القئ من فيه انثعاعا، وكذلك الدم من الأنف والجُرْح.
