(تُلِمُّ) التَّاءُ وَاللَّامُ وَالْمِيمُ لَيْسَ بِأَصْلٍ، وَلَا فِيهِ كَلَامٌ صَحِيحٌ وَلَا فَصِيحٌ. قَالَ ابْنُ دُرَيْدٍ فِي التَّلَامِ إِنَّهُ التَّلَامِيذُ. وَأَنْشَدَ:

كَالْحَمَالِيجِ بِأَيْدِي التَّلَامِ

وَفِي الْكِتَابِ الْمَنْسُوبِ إِلَى الْخَلِيلِ: التَّلَمُ مَشَقُّ الْكِرَابِ بِلُغَةِ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ. وَذَكَرَ فِي التَّلَامِ نَحْوًا مِمَّا ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ دُرَيْدٍ. وَمَا فِي ذَلِكَ شَيْءٌ يُعَوَّلُ عَلَيْهِ. وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ التِّلْمِيذَ لَيْسَ مِنْ كَلَامِ الْعَرَبِ.
