[بتك] البَتْكُ: القطعُ. وقد بَتَكَهُ يَبْتِكُهُ ويَبْتُكُهُ، أي قَطَعه. وسيفٌ باتِكٌ، أي صارمٌ. والبَتْكُ أيضاً: أن تقبض على الشئ فتجذبه فَيَنْبَتِكَ. وكلُّ طائفةٍ منه بِتْكَةٌ بالكسر، والجمع بِتَكٌ. ومنه قول الشاعر :

طارتْ وفي كَفِّهِ من ريشها بِتَكٌ * والبِتْكَةُ أيضاً: جَهْمةٌ من الليل. وبَتَّكَ آذانَ الأنْعامِ، أي قطعها، شدد للكثرة.
