إشكان: (أسبانية اسكانو escano) جمعها: أشاكن مصطبة طويلة ذات ظهر تتسع لثلاثة أشخاص أو أربعة (فوك). وجمعها عند ابن جبير (ص63) أشاكين فهذا هو الصواب بدل أشاكير التي جاءت في المخطوطة وقد صحفها الناشر إلى أشاكيز خطأ منه. ولذلك يجب حذف مادة شكز من معجم ألفاظ ابن جبير.
