Al-Sharīf al-Jurjānī (died 1413 CE / 816 AH) was a Persian theologian, philosopher,
astronomer and lexicographer, best known for his Kitāb al-Taʿrīfāt, a dictionary of legal, scientific
and technical terms in use during his time. This book is one of the earliest technical dictionaries that
appeared in the Arabic language.
