مرطل: مَرْطَله في الطِّين: لَطَخَه. ومَرْطَل الرجلُ ثوبه بالطين إِذا
لَطَخَه، ومَرْطَلَ عِرْضَه كذلك؛ قال صخر بن عميرة:
مَمْغُوثة أَعْراضُهم مُمَرْطَلَهْ،
كما تُلاثُ في الهِناءِ الثَّمَلَهْ
ومَرْطَله المطرُ: بَلَّه. ومَرْطَلَ العملَ: أَدامه.
