رصع
1 رَصِعَ بِهِ, aor. ـَ (S, K,) inf. n. رَصَعٌ, (S,) or, as in the L, رُصُوعٌ, (TA,) It stuck, adhered, or clave, to it; (S, K;) as also ↓ ارتصع. (Ibn-'Abbád, K.) You say, أَسْنَانُهُ ↓ اِرْتَصَعَتْ His teeth were near together, (K, TA,) and stuck, adhered, or clave, together. (TA.) [See also the part. n. of the latter verb, below.] b2: رَصِعَ بِالطِّيبِ i. q. عَبِقَ بِهِ [app. meaning (assumed tropical:) He kept, or became addicted to, the use of perfume; syn. أُولِعَ بِهِ: but accord. to the TK, he rubbed, or anointed, himself with perfume]. (IF, K.) b3: رَصَعَ بِالمَكَانِ, aor. ـَ inf. n. رَصْعٌ, He remained, stayed, dwelt, or abode, in the place. (K, * TA.) A2: رَصَعَ الشَّىةءَ He tied the thing in a complicated treble knot, such as the knots of the تَمِيمَة and the like: [or perhaps this is a mistranscription, for ↓ رَصَّعَ; for it is added,] when you take a thong, and tie in it treble knots, this [action] is [termed] تَرْصِيعٌ. (TA.) 2 تَرْصِيعٌ [inf. n. of رصّع] The act of setting, fixing, or putting together, [jewels, precious stones, gems, pearls, &c.;] syn. تَرْكِيبٌ. (S, K.) [See the pass. part. n., below.] b2: The act of making [a thing] according to a measure; syn. تَقْدِيرٌ. (Ibn-'Abbád, K.) b3: The act of weaving [a thing]; or forming [it] by the inserting of one part within another; like as a bird weaves its nest. (Ibn-'Abbád, K.) You say, رصّع الطَّائِرُ عُشَّهُ بِقُضْبَانٍ وَرِيشٍ The bird put twigs and feathers near together, and wove with them its nest. (A, TA.) b4: رصّع العِقْدَ بِالجَوْهَرِ, inf. n. as above, He furnished the necklace with jewels, precious stones, or gems, connected, or drawn, together, in a series. (TA.) b5: [Hence,] in rhetoric, التَّرْصِيعُ signifies (assumed tropical:) A kind of جِنَاس; (TA;) the making the words of a clause of rhyming prose, or at least two of them, conformable in their measures, and agreeing in their latter parts, with the corresponding words of the corresponding clause; as in the saying in the Kur [end of ch. lxxxviii.], إِنَّ إِلَيْنَاإِيَابَهُمْ ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ: and the like in verse; as in the saying of Aboo-Firás [El-Farezdak], وَأَمْوَالُهُ لِلطَّالِبِينَ نِهَابُ وَأَفْعَالُهُ لِلَّاغِبِينَ كَرِيمَةٌ (Har p. 9.) b6: See also 1; last sentence.8 إِرْتَصَعَ see 1, first and second sentences.

رَصِيعَةٌ The knot that is in the bridle (اللِّجَام), by the cheek (المُعَذَّر), resembling a [small piece of money such as is called] فَلْس. (K.) b2: A ring, of those with which a sword is ornamented: (S:) or the round ornament of a sword: (IDrd, K:) or any round ring in the ornamental part of a sword or saddle or other thing: (IDrd, K: *) or a plaited thong between the suspensory thong, or shoulder-belt, and the scabbard, of the sword; as also ↓ رَصِيعٌ: or [the pl. signifies] plaited thongs in the lower parts of the suspensory thongs of the sword; and a dial. var. is with س; (TA;) i. e. رَسَائِعُ, (K and TA in art. رسع,) on the authority of ISh. (TA in that art.) The pl. of رَصِيعَةٌ (S, K) in all the senses explained above (K, TA) is رَصَائِعُ. (S, K.) رَاصِعٌ Sticking, adhering, or cleaving. (Az, L.) مُرَصَّعٌ Adorned with jewels, precious stones, or gems; applied to a crown, and sword: (K:) or you say, تَاجٌ مُرَصَّعٌ بِالجَوَاهِرِ meaning a crown set with jewels, precious stones, or gems: and سَيْفٌ مُرَصَّعٌ a sword ornamented with the rings called رَصَائِع, pl. of رَصِيعَةٌ. (S.) b2: فَرَسٌ مُرَصَّعُ الثُّنَنِ A horse having the hairs of the fetlock بَعْضُهَا فِى بَعَضٍ [meaning compacted together, as though woven]: (AO, and so in some copies of the K:) in [some of the copies of] the K بَعْضُهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ. (TA.) أَسْنَانُهُ مُرْتَصِعَةٌ His teeth are set close together. (A, TA.)
