(مَسَّ) الْمِيمُ وَالسِّينُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ وَاحِدٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى جَسِّ الشَّيْءِ بِالْيَدِ. وَمَسِسْتُهُ أَمَسُّهُ. وَرُبَّمَا قَالُوا: مَسَسْتُ أَمُسُّ. وَالْمَمْسُوسُ: الَّذِي بِهِ مَسٌّ، كَأَنَّ الْجِنَّ مَسَّتْهُ. وَالْمَسُوسُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ: مَا نَالَتْهُ الْأَيْدِي. قَالَ:

لَوْ كُنْتُ مَاءً كُنْتُ لَا ... عَذْبَ الْمَذَاقِ وَلَا مَسُوسًا.
