حَلالٌ: بالفتح، بلفظ ضد الحرام: اسم صنم لبني فزارة. والحلال أيضا: جبل في طريق مصر من الشام دون العريش إلى الشام، وكان من منازل بني راشدة، فلما قصد عمرو بن العاص فتح مصر نفرت منه بنو راشدة من جبل الحلال.
حِلالٌ: بالكسر، وتخفيف اللام: من نواحي اليمن، والحلال: جماعة بيوت الناس، واحدتها حلّة، وهي حلال أي كثيرة، والحلال: متاع الرجل.
