(حَقَدَ) الْحَاءُ وَالْقَافُ وَالدَّالُ أَصْلَانِ: أَحَدُهُمَا الضِّغْنُ، وَالْآخَرُ أَلَّا يُوجَدُ مَا يَطْلُبُ.

فَالْأَوَّلُ الْحِقْدُ، وَيُجْمَعُ عَلَى الْأَحْقَادِ. وَالْآخَرُ قَوْلُهُمْ أَحَقَدَ الْقَوْمُ، إِذْ طَلَبُوا الذَّهَبَةَ فِي الْمَعْدِنِ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوهَا.
