ي ق ن: (الْيَقِينُ) الْعِلْمُ وَزَوَالُ الشَّكِّ، يُقَالُ مِنْهُ: (يَقِنْتُ) الْأَمْرَ مِنْ بَابِ طَرِبَ. وَ (أَيْقَنْتُ) وَ (اسْتَيْقَنْتُ) وَ (تَيَقَّنْتُ) كُلُّهُ بِمَعْنًى. وَأَنَا عَلَى (يَقِينٍ) مِنْهُ. وَرُبَّمَا عَبَّرُوا عَنِ الظَّنِّ بِالْيَقِينِ وَعَنِ الْيَقِينِ بِالظَّنِّ.

يَقِنَ الأَمْرَ، كفَرِحَ، يَقْناً، ويُحَرَّكُ،
وأيْقَنَه،
وـ به،
وتَيَقَّنَه واسْتَيْقَنَه،
وـ به: عَلِمَهُ، وتَحَقَّقَهُ.
وهو يَقَنٌ، مُثَلَّثَةَ القافِ،
ويَقَنَةٌ، محرَّكةً: لا يَسْمَعُ شيئاً إلا أيْقَنَهُ، وكذا مِيقانٌ، وهي مِيقانَةٌ.
واليَقينُ: إزاحَةُ الشَّك،
كاليَقَنِ، محرَّكةً، والموتُ.
وياقِينُ: ة بالقُدْسِ.
وهاشِمُ بنُ يَقِينٍ: مُحَدِّثٌ.
ويَقِنٌ بالشيءِ، كخَجِلٍ: مُولَعٌ به.
وذُو يَقَنٍ، محرَّكةً: ماءٌ.

قد فرّق الدهر بين الحيّ بالظّعن ... وبين أهواء شرب يوم ذي يقن
