ذره، واحذره. والعرب أماتت المصدر منه فيقولون: ذر تركاً، وإذا قيل لهم ذروه قالوا قد وذرناه. وعندي وذرة من لحم: قطعة بلا عظم.

ومن المجاز: قولهم في الشتم: يا ابن شامّة الوذر: يريدون الزانية، والوذر كناية عن المذاكير. وعن عثمان رضي الله عنه: أنه رفع إليه من قاله فحدّه. وامرأة لمياء الوذرتين وهما الشفتان.

(وَذَرَ) الْوَاوُ وَالذَّالُ وَالرَّاءُ كَلِمَتَانِ: إِحْدَاهُمَا الْوَذَرَةُ، وَهِيَ الْفِدْرَةُ مِنَ اللَّحْمِ. وَالتَّوْذِيرُ: أَنْ يُشْرَطَ الْجُرْحُ فَيُقَالُ: وَذَّرْتُهُ. وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِآخَرَ: " يَا ابْنَ شَامَّةِ الْوَذَرِ " فَحُدَّ، كَأَنَّهُ عَرَّضَ لَهَا بِأَعْضَاءِ الرِّجَالِ.

وَالْأُخْرَى قَوْلُهُمْ: ذَرْذَا. قَالَ أَهْلُ اللُّغَةِ: أَمَاتَتِ الْعَرَبُ الْفِعْلَ مِنْ ذَرَّ فِي الْمَاضِي، فَلَا يَقُولُونَ وَذَرْتُهُ.
