و ج ف: (وَجَفَ) الشَّيْءُ يَجِفُ بِالْكَسْرِ (وَجِيَفًا) اضْطَرِبَ. وَقَلْبٌ (وَاجِفٌ) وَ (الْوَجِيفُ) ضَرْبٌ مِنْ سَيْرِ الْإِبِلِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَقَدْ (وَجَفَ) الْبَعِيرُ يَجِفُ بِالْكَسْرِ (وَجْفًا) بِوَزْنِ ضَرْبٍ. وَ (وَجِيفًا) وَ (أَوْجَفَهُ) صَاحِبُهُ يُقَالُ: أَوْجَفَ فَأَعْجَفَ، وَقَالَ اللَّهُ - تَعَالَى -:
{فَمَا أَوْجَفْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَيْلٍ وَلَا رِكَابٍ} [الحشر: 6] أَيْ مَا أَعْمَلْتُمْ.
