والبجد: الجماعة من الناس. والخلط وجمعه بجود والبُجْدُ من المالِ: أي سَوَادٌ وسَدٌ كَثرةً. وهو عالِمٌ بِبَجْدَةِ أمْرِكَ وبُجْدَتِه: أي بِدِخْلَتِه. وبَجَّدَ بالمَكانِ: أقامَ به، وبَجَدَ مِثْلُه بالتَّخْفِيف. والباجِدُ: الساكِنُ. وعِنْدَه بَجْدَةُ ذاك: أي عِلْمُه. وقيل: البَجْدَةُ: الأصْلُ. والصَّحْرَاءُ أيضاً. وقَوْلُهم للحِرْبَاءِ: " ابْنُ بَجْدَتِها " أي ابْنُ بَلْدَتِها. وبَجَدَتِ السَّمَاءُ علينا وبَجَّدَتْ: إذا دامَتْ فلا تُقْلِعُ. والتَّبْجِيْدُ: القُعُوْدُ للنَّوْحِ وغَيْرِه. والمَبْجُوْدُ: المَنْثُورُ، بَرَدٌ مَبْجُوْدٌ. وَوَقَعَ القَوْمُ في أبي جادٍ: أي في باطِلٍ.
