(هَزَلَ) الْهَاءُ وَالزَّاءُ وَاللَّامُ كَلِمَتَانِ فِي قِيَاسٍ وَاحِدٍ، يَدُلَّانِ عَلَى ضَعْفٍ. فَالْهَزْلُ: نَقِيضُ الْجِدِّ. وَالْهُزَالُ: خِلَافُ السِّمَنِ. يُقَالُ: هَزَلْتُ دَابَّتِي وَقَدْ هُزِلَتْ. وَهَزَلَ فِي مَنْطِقِهِ. وَأَهْزَلَ: وَقَعَ فِي مَالِهِ الْهُزَالُ.
