النُّعَاسُ: النَّوْمُ القليلُ. قال تعالى: إِذْ يُغَشِّيكُمُ النُّعاسَ أَمَنَةً
[الأنفال/ 11] ، نُعاساً [آل عمران/ 154] وقيل: النُّعَاسُ هاهنا عبارةٌ عن السُّكُونِ والهُدُوِّ، وإشارةٌ إلى قول النبيّ صلّى الله عليه وسلم: «طُوبَى لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ نُوَمَةٍ» .
