ندم

1 نَدِمَ عَلَى مَا فَعَلَ He grieved for what he had done; regretted it; repented of it: or he disliked it. (Msb.) نَدِيمٌ A companion in drinking; a cup-companion. (S, Msb, K.) And hence, Any convivial companion; a boon-companion.

مَنْدَمٌ Repentance: an inf. n. of نَدِمَ; see an ex. in a verse of El-Kattál El-Kilábee, cited voce أَىٌّ.

نَدِمَ عليه، كفَرِحَ،
نَدَماً ونَدامةً وتَنَدَّمَ: أسِفَ، فهو نادِمٌ ونَدْمانُ
ج: كَسكارَى وكِتابٍ وزُنَّارٍ.
والنَّديمُ والنَّديمةُ: المُنادِمُ
ج: نُدَماءُ، كالنَّدْمانِ
ج: نَدامَى ونِدامٌ، وقد يكونُ النَّدْمانُ جَمْعاً. ومحمدُ بنُ حَسَنِ بنِ أبيِ بَكْرِ بنِ نَدِيمَة، كسَفينةٍ: أبو بَكْرٍ الصَّيْدَلانِيُّ، شيخُ السَّمْعانِيِّ.
ونادَمَه مُنادَمَةً ونِداماً: جالَسَه على الشَّرابِ.
والنَّدْمُ: الكَيِّسُ الظّريفُ، وبالتحريكِ: الأَثَرُ.
وخُذْ ما انْتَدَمَ، أي: ما تَيَسَّرَ.

(نَدِمَ)
- فِيهِ «مَرْحَبًا بالقومِ غيرَ خَزايا وَلَا نَدَامَى» أَيْ نَادِمِينَ. فَأَخْرَجَهُ عَلَى مَذْهَبِهِمْ فِي الْإِتْبَاعِ لِخزايا؛ لِأَنَّ النَّدَامَى جَمْعُ نَدْمَانَ، وَهُوَ النَّدِيمُ الَّذِي يُرَافِقُكَ ويُشاربك.
وَيُقَالُ فِي النَّدَمِ: نَدمانُ، أَيْضًا، فَلَا يَكُونُ إِتْبَاعًا لِخَزَايَا، بَلْ جَمْعًا بِرَأْسِهِ.
وَقَدْ نَدِمَ يَنْدَمُ، نَدَامَةً ونَدَماً، فَهُوَ نَادِمٌ ونَدْمانُ.
وَفِي حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ «إِيَّاكُمْ ورَضاعَ السُّوءِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ لابدّ مِنْ أَنْ يَنْتَدِمَ يَوْمًا» أَيْ يظهَر أثرُه. والنَّدَمُ: الأثَر، وَهُوَ مِثل النَّدَب. وَالْبَاءُ وَالْمِيمُ يَتَبَادَلَانِ.
وَذَكَرَهُ الزَّمَخْشَرِيُّ بِسُكُونِ الدَّالِ، مِنَ النَّدْمِ: وَهُوَ الغَمّ اللَّازِمُ، إِذْ يَنْدَمُ صاحبُه، لِمَا يَعْثُرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ سُوءِ آثَارِهِ.

(نَدَمَ) النُّونُ وَالدَّالُ وَالْمِيمُ كَلِمَةٌ تَدُلُّ عَلَى تَفَكُّنٍ لِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَانَ. يُقَالُ: نَدِمَ عَلَيْهِ نَدَمًا وَنَدَامَةً. وَشَرِيبُ الرَّجُلِ: مُنَادِمُهُ وَنَدِيمُهُ. وَقَالَ نَاسٌ: الْمُنَادَمَةُ مَقْلُوبُ الْمُدَامَنَةِ، وَذَلِكَ إِدْمَانُ الشَّرَابِ. وَفِيهِ نَظَرٌ. وَنَاسٌ يَقُولُونَ: كَانَ الشَّرِيبَانِ يَكُونُ مِنْ أَحَدِهِمَا بَعْضُ مَا يُنْدَمُ عَلَيْهِ، فَلِذَلِكَ سُمِّيَا نَدِيمَيْنِ.
